Staff members are employed on the basis of an employment contract, which following the Labour Code may be valid for a probation period, for a set period, for an indefinite period and as a replacement.
According to Article 25 of the Labour Code the employment period on the basis of an employment contract signed for a set period of time by the same parties cannot exceed 33 months, and the total number of such contracts cannot exceed three.
If the employee is hired as a member of a project team on a full-time or a part-time basis, he or she should sign an employment contract and in such a case Article 25 of the Labour Code does not apply.
The contract will be signed when the employee submits a doctor’s certificate indicating no contraindications to working in a specified capacity (issued by a specialist in occupational medicine), on the basis of a referral issued by the Centre for Human Resources. The employee is required to complete a training course in occupational health and safety and fire prevention, as well as general data protection regulations.
