The tasks of the Jagiellonian University Centre for Human Resources include managing personnel, payroll and social affairs at the Jagiellonian University (excluding the Jagiellonian University - Collegium Medicum).
The tasks of the Office of Human Resources include in particular:
1. conducting all employee matters arising from the employment relationship, including those related to:
        a. establishing and terminating the employment relationship,
        b. maintaining personal files,
        c. preparation and issuing of documentation related to the employment relationship,
2. preparing periodical reports, analyses and lists of employment and salaries,
3. providing administrative support for the Senate and Rector's Committees assigned to the Office of Human Resources and preparing documentation resulting from the work of these committees for the JU Senate meetings
4. handling matters related to retirement or disability of JU employees.
 
The tasks of the Office of Payrolls include in particular:
 
1. conducting matters related to the calculation of salaries and other benefits resulting from the Regulations on the Remuneration of JU employees,
2. handling matters related to the calculation of salaries and preparation of payrolls on the basis of civil law contracts concluded
3. keeping records of persons for whom payments are made, in particular on account of: agreements concerning scholarships in projects, awards connected with competitions organised by JU, participation in research as part of research projects carried out by JU,
4. keeping payroll records,
5. handling matters related to the payment of doctoral scholarships for doctoral students,
6. handling matters related to the social and health insurance of the University's employees and those employed under civil law contracts, maintaining correspondence and settlements with the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS)
7. handling all matters related to the JU's tax obligations as a payer of personal income tax.
 
The tasks of the Office of Staff  and Faculty Training and Development include in particular:
 
1. coordinating the development and implementation of recruitment and adaptation plans for hired employees,
2. participating in the development of principles for the development, promotion, and career paths of employees, including criteria and procedures for the promotion of non-academic staff
3. settlement of teaching load and overtime hours,
4. handling matters related to Employee Equity Plans,
5. participating in the development of rules for periodic evaluation of employees and administrative support for evaluation processes
6. coordinating work related to applications for state and departmental orders and distinctions, Minister's awards, Rector's awards
7. maintaining the POLON system within the scope of the Centre for Human Resources of the Jagiellonian University,
8. issuing ID cards for academic staff.
 
 
 
The tasks of the Office of Welfare and Social Benefits include in particular:
 
1. conducting matters related to ensuring the social, housing, cultural, and recreational needs of JU employees, JU retirees and disability pensioners, former JU employees receiving pre-retirement benefits, and members of their families, in accordance with the rules set out in internal JU acts, including the Rules for Allocating Benefits from the Company Social Benefits Fund at the Jagiellonian University
2. Conducting matters related to the allocation of housing and places in assistants' hotels for JU employees, including foreign lecturers.
